Present study was undertaken to evaluate analgesic and anti inflammatory activities of Raphanus sativus leaves in animal model. Plant material was collected, shade dried and subjected to maceration by using ethanol and water mixture as solvent. Extract was calculated for percentage yield and subjected for preliminary phytochemical screening using standard procedures. Analgesic activity was evaluated by hot plate and tail immersion method where as anti inflammatory activity was done by carrageenan method. Investigation on analgesic and anti inflammatory activities of Raphanus sativus leaves was performed at two dose levels that are 250 and 500 mg/kg. The results from above parameters indicates that the extract posses significant (p<0.05) analgesic and anti inflammatory activities. Raphanus sativus leaves extract showed significant results (p<0.05) at the higher dose group that is HARS 500 mg/kg body weight. So from the above results, it can be concluded that the analgesic and anti inflammatory activities of the plant are dose dependent. Therefore, it is worthwhile to carryout in detailed and thorough research on the mechanism by which the plant extract exerting this analgesic and anti inflammatory activities.
